Can't log in to Shiftly Me
Your sign-in code hasn't arrived, isn't working, or the app can't find your account? Find the message you're seeing and how to get back in.
You sign in to Shiftly Me with your email address and a short code, or a password if you've set one. When that goes wrong, the app shows a message that points to the cause. Find yours below.
Who this is for
Staff signing in to the Shiftly Me app. For the kiosk tablet at your venue, you use a PIN instead, covered in Can't clock in.
Before you start
- Use the email address your employer has for you. It's the one your Shiftly Me invite was sent to.
- After you enter your email, you may see How do you want to sign in? with Email me a code, Text me a code or Use your password. Email me a code always works, so it's the one to fall back on.
"We couldn't find an account associated with this email address"
What you see: this message under the email box after you tap Next. If you used Sign in with Apple or Google, it reads "No Shiftly account found for this email. Please contact your employer."
Why: there's no Shiftly account with the email you entered. Usually your employer has a different address for you, such as a personal email instead of a work one, or the other way round.
Fix:
- Try any other email address you might have given your employer.
- Check the spelling. Shiftly ignores capital letters and spaces at the ends, but not typos.
- Ask your manager which email they have for you. They can change it on your profile, and then you sign in with the new one.
"Apple is hiding your email address"
What you see: "Apple is hiding your email address, so we can't match it to your Shiftly account. Sign in with your email address instead."
Why: when you chose to hide your email from Shiftly during Sign in with Apple, Apple sends a private relay address that doesn't match the email your employer has.
Fix: type your email address into the box and sign in with a code instead.
"Your account doesn't have access to Shiftly Me"
What you see: "Your account doesn't have access to Shiftly Me. Ask your employer to add you to the team."
Why: your email belongs to a Shiftly account, but you haven't been added as a staff member at any business. This happens, for example, if you were only set up as a manager.
Fix: ask your employer to add you as an employee. Once they have, sign in again with the same email.
Your code hasn't arrived
By email:
- Check your spam or junk folder.
- Make sure you're checking the inbox for the email address you typed in.
- Give it a minute, then tap resend under Didn't get it? on the code screen.
By text:
- Text me a code only appears when your employer has an Australian mobile number for you. The option shows the end of the number it will text.
- If you see "We couldn't text your code. Please have it emailed instead." or "We don't have a mobile number for this account. Please have your code emailed instead.", go back and choose Email me a code.
Codes go to the email or mobile number on your Shiftly profile. Once you're signed in, you can check which email that is under Account → Access. You can't change your email in the app, so if it's wrong, ask your manager to update it.
Your code isn't working
- "Incorrect PIN. Please try again." The 4 digits you typed don't match. Check you're using the newest code: if you asked for another one more than a minute after the first, only the newest one works.
- "The temporary code has expired. Please request a new one." A code lasts 24 hours. A code your manager creates for you lasts 15 minutes. Tap resend to get a new one.
- "Too many incorrect attempts. Please request a new code." After 5 wrong tries the code stops working. Wait a minute, tap resend for a new code, and enter that one.
Your password isn't working
- "Incorrect password. Please try again." Tap Send me a code instead, choose Email me a code, and sign in with the code.
- Forgot your password? Sign in with a code instead, then set a new password under Account → Access → Password. You don't need your old password to set a new one. Your manager can also email you a link to reset it.
- No Use your password option? It only appears once you've set a password. Sign in with a code.
"You do not have access to any businesses"
What you see: you sign in, then see "You do not have access to any businesses." and "Please contact your administrator or employer to be granted access to a business in Shiftly."
Why: your account exists, but it isn't linked to a workplace right now. You may have been removed from the team, or your employer added you under a different email address.
Fix: tap Logout, then ask your manager to check you're on their team with the email you used.
Ask your manager to help
Your manager can help you sign in from the Shiftly web platform. They can:
- email or text you a sign-in code,
- create a code and read it out to you over the phone, which works for 15 minutes, or
- send you a link to reset your password.
You get a notification in Shiftly Me when a manager creates or views a sign-in code for you.
