My shift isn't showing

A shift is missing from Shiftly Me, or shows the wrong time? Here's why that happens and what to do about it.

Shiftly Me shows the roster your manager has published. Most missing or out-of-date shifts come down to that, or to the app looking at a different workplace from the one you expect.

Who this is for

Staff using the Shiftly Me app who can't find a shift in Home or Roster.

Before you start

  • Your upcoming shifts are on the Roster tab under Calendar. Home only shows today's shifts.
  • If your manager told you about a shift, ask them which day, venue and position it's for. You'll need that below.

The shift hasn't been published yet

Why: your manager builds the roster first, then publishes it. Until they publish, the shift doesn't appear in Shiftly Me at all. This includes a shift added to a week that was already published: it stays hidden until your manager publishes again.

Fix: ask your manager to publish the roster. You'll usually get a notification when they do, unless they choose to publish without notifying anyone.

The shift shows the old time or position

Why: Shiftly Me shows the roster as it was when your manager last published it. If they change a shift afterwards, you keep seeing the old version until they publish the update.

Fix: ask your manager to publish their changes. Once they do, the shift updates, and you'll usually be notified whether it was changed, given to someone else, or cancelled.

You're looking at a different workplace

Why: if you work at more than one business or location, Shiftly Me only shows the one you've picked. A shift at your other venue won't appear until you switch.

Fix:

  1. On Home, tap the switch icon at the top left. It only appears when you have more than one business or location.
  2. Under Select a location, choose All locations to see shifts from every venue, or pick one venue.
  3. To see another business, go back to Select a business and pick it.

The shift has already finished

Why: the Calendar only shows shifts that haven't finished yet, and Home only shows today's shifts until their finish time. Once a shift ends, it drops off both.

Fix: find shifts you've worked under Roster → Timesheets. See Check the hours you've worked.

The shift is a long way off

Why: Shiftly Me loads your roster up to about 90 days ahead. A shift further out than that doesn't appear yet.

Fix: it appears on its own as the date gets closer.

The shift went to someone else, or was cancelled

Why: your manager may have reassigned the shift or removed it. Once they publish, it disappears from your roster.

Fix: check your notifications on Home for a roster change, or ask your manager.

An open shift isn't showing

Open shifts are extra shifts anyone can ask to work. You won't see one when:

  • it hasn't been published,
  • it's at a venue you don't work at,
  • it's for a position your manager hasn't set you up to work, or
  • it overlaps a shift you're already rostered on.

Fix: ask your manager whether you can work that position or venue. See Pick up an extra shift.

You can't see any shifts at all

  • "You do not have access to any businesses." Your account isn't linked to a workplace. See Can't log in to Shiftly Me.
  • You're signed in with a different email. If your employer has another email address for you, you may be in the wrong account. Sign out under Account, then sign in with the email your invite was sent to.
